The PS5 is the next generational Play station guru with its release date set for late2020. The standard mode is similar to the digital model but varies a little in terms of having an Ultra HD 4K Blu- ray drive which lacks on the former. It comes with a great
graphical power amount, an upgraded CPU, and a super quick solid-state drive(SSD). The PS5 uses the new Dual sense controller and is compatible with accessories such as HD Camera with '' dual 1080p lenses'', media remote, a charging station for the controllers, and a 3D wireless headset. The features included in it are an 825GB SSD and 16GB RAM, 36 compute units at 2.23GHz, eight-core AMD Zen 2-CPU clocked at 3.5GHz, and an AMD RDNA 2 GPU with 10.28 teraflops. It also comes with upgraded specs entailing advanced 3D audio, powerful loading speeds, and 8K graphical capabilities.
DESIGN
The standard PS5 includes the 4K UHD Blu- ray drive which is missing in the Digital version. This makes it have a bulge at the front. It is created to have a bold, appealing, and futuristic appearance. Its design has a white shell that passes through the black core and is faintly like that of PS3(has a black stripe) and PS4(has a blue stripe). The top has vents to reduce temperature while the front part has USB-A and USB-C fronts. The PS5 is packed in blue cases that appear similar to the PS4 but is slightly darker
and matches the blue accents on the console and controller. Peripherals that come with the device are an HD Camera, media remote, headset allowing 3D Audio, and two controllers. These features make it to be worth upgrading to.
HARDWARE
The disc-equipped console has an optical drive which also sums up as a Blu-ray player and supports 4K video. Through the console, users can be able to have a widened range of home entertainment and enjoy DVDs and Blu-ray discs for a widened experience with friends and family. The new hardware runs on: 10.28 TFLOPS, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz with variable frequency, a custom RDNA 2 architecture, and a PS4 by comparison launched with 1.84 TFLOPS, 18 CUs at 800MHz. It also has a flexible GPU which comprises a custom RDNA 2 architecture and a PS4 by comparison launched with 1.84 TFLOPS, 18 CUs at 800MHz, 10.28 TFLOPS, and 36 CUs at 2.23GHz with variable frequency. It further comes with a more flexible GPU which involves specs such as 1.25 performance per clock upgrade and a 1.5x performance-per-watt. It further encompasses a new compute design bringing higher efficiency, streamlined graphics providing optimized performance, and a multi-level cache hierarchy.
CPU
The limelight of the PS5 is its high processing power that enables gamers to have memorable and swift experiences while playing their games. It has CPU specs of eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU clocked at 3.5GHz which is the highest end of Sony’s CPUs. It has been strategically designed to showcase a different paradigm from the usual norm that gamers are used to. The CPU is efficient enough and allows the adjustment of frequencies based on workloads as an internal monitor analyzes tasks and adjusts frequencies to match for the CPU and GPU. The AMD’s smart shift technology has been incorporated to authorize unused power to be switched from the CPU to GPU therefore having the gadget to have increased performance.
CONTROLLER
PS5 offers Dual sense controllers as their gamepad. The controllers differ in looks from the Dual Shock 4 controllers that were launched with the PS4. They create a futuristic print with their boomerang-like shape and a white and black color scheme. It has haptic feedback which replaces the PS4S rumble technology. It also has adaptive triggers that have been moduled to the trigger buttons to accurately stimulate actions, a new ‘create’ button that does the task of the share button, and an audio jack that allows users to plug-in headsets and headphones.
STORAGE
The PS5 uses a proprietary 825 GB (SSD) which boasts load time for games and provides 5.5GB/s for performance. This is an improvement to the PS4 which had 500GB and 1TB configuration. The upgraded storage also allows users to increase their storage through a compatible NVMe SSD hard drive.
ACCESSORIES
The device has various accessories that come with it such as a media remote, HD Camera with “dual 1080p lenses”, a pulse 3D wireless headset, and a charging station for two dual sense controllers.
LATEST GAMES
There are more than 25 games featured in the new PS5 and include NBA 2K21, Marvel’s Avengers, WRC 9, Madden NFL 21, Doom Eternal, Marvel’s spiderman, Godfall, Astro’s playroom, Oddworld: Soulstorm, JETT: The Shore, etc.
NETWORK
You will be able to get a network monster adventure with the PS5 being that it comes with Wi-Fi 6 802.11 AX standard. This is a great improvement from the previous versions standard. Compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) that was moduled for its predecessor PS4, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 has a better latency while providing strong network connectivity levels. The PS5 becomes a pacesetter for the gaming world.
