You can set ALERTS on this DVR and you can also connect your cameras to the internet for remote viewing and playback. You can receive notifications on your phone or tablet or laptop when motion is detected in a set area. For those that do not have internet on their premises, the package will work FINE without internet. The CCTV package does NOT require internet to function. Internet is only used for remote viewing/& playback. Hence Internet is not a MUST for the cameras to work. The setup has no maintenance cost.
